CJ was literally almost perfect – people-friendly, dog-friendly and absolutely adorable! In fact, he was so good with other dogs, shelter volunteers even used him to help timid dogs gain confidence.
He was a fantastic boy. LOVED LOVED LOVED people. Shaked with both paws, fetched a tennis ball and learned very quickly how to catch treats mid-air most of the time.
Lola had medical issues but a rescue was willing to take all the care for her. “The Founder of Every Pet’s Dream immediately called the vet clinic, confirmed that Lola was alive, and told them she would be there in 15 minutes to pick her up. The vet tech relayed the message of the Medical Director that ” The decision has already been made” to proceed with euthanasia and declined to speak to the Founder personally. “
Rudy was a young and energetic dog. Shelter life had been hard on this boy. Volunteers have worked with him to find his outlet in toys. Rudy loved fetch and soccer balls.
Goofy was just a scared boy… He allowed petting, took treats and didn’t show aggression at all. Volunteers pleaded his case with the supervisor, who promised to reevaluate Goofy. However, the shelter still euthanized him because his date was marked FINAL! There was no additional evaluation, no second chance, and no outreach to rescue or SJAA.
Loco Moco was on the rescue list but was never placed on the list of dogs scheduled for euthanasia, and the shelter decided to end his life anyway despite a rescue group’s request for time to assess.
Robert had a hard time at the shelter. However, volunteers noted that his mellow energy was the perfect canvas for the love he held for both humans and fellow canines.
Rusty was a healthy, young dog with his whole life ahead of him. He participated in numerous playgroups, only had a moderate energy level, and he was very friendly with people.
According to the shelter volunteer, Buddy was a big fellow with a heart to match. He was a love bug with mellow energy, a canine diplomat with a friendly demeanor toward both dogs and humans.
Upon arrival at the shelter, Gabriel had a probable broken jaw. SEAACA refused to fix it. A rescue group did find out about the puppy and sent an email offering to save him, twice. Gabriel arrived after hours on Saturday evening. The SEAACA pound is closed on Sunday and Monday and did not reply until Tuesday to inform the rescuers that Gabriel was dead.
Pearl became available for adoption on 3/21/2024. Interested people were working on the plan to get her out. Despite the knowledge of that fact, shelter killed Pearl on 3/27/2024.
He was brought into the shelter on February 27th and was euthanized March 13th. Although he didn’t walk well on leash, he was calm and social with the other dogs
His is euth listed for being scared. He does have a kennel mate. As you can see he’s older and has some lumps and bumps. He seems like a sweet boy who hasn’t had the best life.
Banjo was scared and not trusting people. Even though he was moved from “rescue only” to general adoption, the little guy did not get a chance at a better life.
Dillon was taken off euthanasia list, December 2023. Got close to $284 in pledges to save his life. Even though he was moved from “rescue only” to general adoption, Dillon was killed within 3 weeks of being at the shelter.
Belle came in as a stray with some puncture wounds. Treated at the shelter. $200 was pledged for her rescue. Belle had been at the shelter for a month.
Sherlock was a beautiful young dog. Came to the shelter as a stray. He had a nasal discharge that was treated by the shelter. He became available for adoption in 10 days. Killed after 1,5 months in the shelter.
Notes state that Maximus was in the shelter since 12/10/23. Notes from 12/22/23 show that he was treated for nasal discharge. Possibly gotten at the shelter. Killed January 6, 2024, less than a month of being at the shelter.
Shelter Behaviorist thinks it is likely due to the barrier of the kennel, that Velvet seems aggressive and hard to handle. As you can see in the video, outside she is super calm and sweet. Velvet was put on euthanasia list for behavioral reasons. She was killed within 2 weeks of being at the shelter.
Benny was found on the streets. Family took him in and wanted to keep. In 4 days he ended up back in the shelter Benny was killed within 2 weeks of being at the shelter.

Saint, a beautiful young dog that was found on a street, did not do well on shelter evaluation. He was marked as “dog aggressive”. Killed that same week as being evaluated, within 3 weeks of his stay at the shelter.
Dutch was confiscated. He came to the shelter sneezing, coughing, and having some injured old fractures. Despite these issues, he was very friendly, social, and without any behavioral issues. Dutch was killed within 2 months of staying at the shelter.
Vargas came as a stray, exhibiting a fear of men. No negative reaction to women. This beautiful, young, and healthy dog was killed within 2 weeks of being at the shelter.
Marked as “Aggressive” by shelter. However, videos made by volunteers clearly show how stressed and overwhelmed Mayvis is by the shelter’s loud environment. Given the fact that she was not spayed, she was probably bred and later dumped on the streets. Mayvis was killed within a week of staying at the shelter.
Princess Peach came as a stray with 2 other dogs. Marked as showing aggressive tendencies but clearly scared. Princess was killed within 1 week of being at the shelter.
Luigi came in as a stray with Princess Peach and another dog. Marked by the shelter as having “aggressive tendencies”.. This scared puppy was killed within 1 week of being at the shelter.
Lucy came in as a stray with her sister Ethel. She was very shy and cautious. Did not want to come out from her kennel. No aggression whatsoever. Killed in less than 2 weeks of being at the shelter.

Sophie was an owner surrender. SInce they could not provide a proof of ownership, Sophie was marked as a stray. She was showing signs of lethargy, anorexia, and dehydration. Shelter was providing medical care. Still, young Sophie was killed within 2 weeks of staying at the shelter.
Mitts came in as a stray. He was marked “Rescue only” because he growled while being scanned for a chip. Mitts was killed within less than 2 weeks of being at the shelter.
Panchito was surrendered by his owner together with his truly bonded pair Bonita. Panchito was not eating, injuring himself in a kennel and showing signs of high stress and anxiety when being separated from Bonita. Killed within less than 2 weeks of being at the shelter.
Found on a street. Was available for general adoption but was “put to sleep to stop suffering” at the shelter’s vet’s office within a week of staying at the shelter.
Simba was surrendered by the owner. He was marked “rescue only” due to a bite history and behavioral challenges at the shelter. Volunteer’s video shows how excitable he is but not aggressive.. Killed within 2 weeks of staying at the shelter.
Loki was scared and skittish, growled when being picked up from the streets. In the kennel he seemed very mellow. Extremely malnourished. This beautiful dog was killed soon after arriving at the shelter.
Chiquis was surrendered by his owner along with his sister Boots. He was put on euthanasia list almost immediately, according to a volunteer. Very mellow baby, possibly biting out of fear, was killed within 2 weeks of staying at the shelter.
Boots was owner surrendered, brought in with her brother Chiquis. Immediately put on euthanasia list as possible fear biter. She and her brother were born in somebody’s yard. Never got any training or socialization. Just like Chiquis, Boots was killed within 2 weeks of staying at the shelter.
Markus was a very social, people oriented pup. He was adopted from the shelter. 3 weeks later, picked up on the street and back as a stray. New owners never came back for him. Markus was put on euthanasia list because he is dog aggressive. Unclear if that is true. Markus was killed within a month of being back at the shelter.
Jingle was a very talkative young dog who was found wearing a collar but no tag or microchip. Jingle was killed within 2 weeks after being taken off the euthanasia list and moved to general adoption.

Havana was found on the streets. She was very fearful, at the shelter, but tried to make contact with a volunteer. Beautiful dog Havana was killed within 2 weeks of staying at the shelter.
Ruby came as a stray. Was put on euthanasia list almost immediately. From her looks in her video she just had pups. So, possibly, her owner used her, profited off of her, and dumped her. Ruby was killed within a week of staying at the shelter.
Billy was very scared at the shelter. He was picked up from the streets. Was marked as aggressive by staff because of growling. Billy was killed within a week of staying at the shelter.
Captain was a very social puppy. Found on the streets. He was treated for sneezing and coughing. Captain was killed within 2 weeks of staying at the shelter.
Bbq Sauce came as a stray with nasal discharge. Put on euthanasia list almost immediately. Was friendly with his kennel mate. Two weeks later, “BBQ is feeling better now and is no longer on the euth list. He can be adopted without a medical waiver.” Killed within a week after this statement from the shelter.
Care Bear was a sweet puppy. Picked up on the streets with her sister Waffles. She was treated at the shelter for nasal discharge. Care Bear was killed within 2 weeks of staying at the shelter.
Balder was surrendered by his owner along with Bjorn. Balder was marked by staff as on an I/D diet and having “aggressive tendencies”. However, video shows a very sweet and social behavior. Balder was killed the same week he was surrendered.

Zayden was big and loud. He didn’t want to be in the kennel and was not too shy to say it. His tail was going crazy, though, to show that he is not mean. Zayden was killed within 2 weeks of staying at the shelter.
Mercy was found on the streets with a collar and a tag. Shelter could not locate the owner. She did not enjoy company at her kennel and was marked “dog aggressive”. Mercy was killed within 3 weeks of staying at the shelter.
Fat Boy was surrendered by his owner along with Debo. Marked as having behavioral issues when did not want a staff member to leash him. Avoidance, not aggression. Fat Boy was killed within a week of staying at the shelter.

Coyote was surrendered by his owner along with his brother and sister. Coyote was marked as “dog aggressive”. He was killed within a week of staying at the shelter.
Lobita was surrendered by her owner along with her brothers. She was marked as “dog aggressive”. Lobita was killed within a week of staying at the shelter.

Reeves came as a stray. Was treated for nasal discharge and diarrhea. Social, beautiful pup with a crazy wagging tail. Reeves was killed within 2 weeks of staying at the shelter.
Ellis was found on the streets. She did not like the shelter life and was very vocal about it. Did not trust humans much either. Ellis was killed a week later.
Emory came as a stray, wearing a harness. Possibly lost dog. Shelter life was hard on this intelligent, young dog. He showed high levels of stress and anxiety. Emory was killed 2 weeks after arrival at the shelter.
Owner surrendered. Orashi was a guard dog in the previous home. He was put on euthanasia list immediately and killed within a week he arrived at the shelter.
